i've mentioned before that finger posing is common, but i didn't realize that there are actually 10 finger gestures one must master for proper picture taking. Sophia from Sichuan is hard at work teaching me. Here is 1-5:

two: (often intensified with vulgar mouth gestures)
three:
four:
five: be sure to use your chin here so as not to confuse it with gesture 4
6-10 later...
Do each of these poses have specific meanings or significance?

ReplyDeleteyes! they in some way resemble the chinese characters for the numbers. in 6-10 it becomes more apparent, i think. but i don't think the duck face they use is particularly meaningful, though travis will appreciate it.
